4 tips to fight against winter viruses

The return of the cold season is synonymous with epidemics of flu, gastro or bronchiolitis. In order to prevent viruses and avoid complications, there are a few essential actions to adopt:

1) Respect hygiene rules more than ever

Wash your hands regularly with soap and water for 30 seconds. When you are outside and you do not have a water point, use a hydro-alcoholic solution. This gesture should be repeated throughout the day. When you cough or yawn, cover your mouth with the bend of your elbow to limit the spread of germs through the air.

2) Strengthen your immune system

To prevent winter viruses and allow your body to better fight them, provide the nutrients your body needs to strengthen your immune system. We are all tempted by rich dishes that bring comfort, only they do not represent any nutritional interest. Choose rich foods rich in vitamins C, E and D to increase the production of antibodies.

3) Sanitize your home

It is necessary to sanitize your home because confined and closed spaces are veritable nests for germs. In order to reduce the concentration of viruses, it is essential to renew the indoor air. Open the windows wide for at least 10 minutes, morning and evening (even if it's cold). These rules are valid both for home and for your workplace such as the office.

4) Cover up well

In winter, we cover ourselves sufficiently, especially the extremities with gloves, a hat or very warm socks. For the rest, we opt for the onion strategy with the superposition of layers. Three thin layers are better than one thick layer to protect against the cold. Materials such as nylon, acrylic or synthetic should be avoided because they keep moisture close to the body and do not keep you warm.

You now have all the keys to preventing winter viruses or limiting complications during a cold or the flu, for example. You can supplement this routine with interesting nutrient foods like our dry pollen seeds. To consume regularly in your yogurts or smoothies for example, the seeds of dry pollen come to reinforce your immune system thanks to its vitamins C, E, B6 and B9.
